Survey Highlights of the 2023 International Conference of Doble Clients
At the close of all our events we survey attendees to get a sense of how it went from their perspective. We want to know what went well and more importantly, to uncover areas where we can improve.
Overall, the attendees of the 2023 International Conference of Doble Clients were overwhelmingly satisfied with the event, felt their goals were met, and would enthusiastically recommend it to others. However, we also identified a few areas for potential improvement to create an even better conference for you.
Topics to Add or Expand
Some respondents listed specific topics they believe should get more time in future conferences, such as:
- Best practices and tools for data management, analysis, and quality
- More case studies on transformers and breakers next year
- A panel discussing high failure items such as older breakers and equipment
Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) was a particular area of interest as the following comments reflect:
- “DGA monitors – how they work and why they fail or falsely alarm.”
- “DGA oil analysis – how to understand results and what it means to the life of transformer or LTC.”
- “Online DGA data: benefits, sampling frequency and why, response process and communication with management on escalation situations.”
These are all great suggestions, and we will use these as a guide to help us search for topics for next year’s program. Of course, if you have a topic or want to do a presentation you can always submit your idea at Topic Submittal for the Doble Client Conferences (office.com) to be part of the conference next year.
Other Areas for Improvement
The technical team will select those topics and training that offer the greatest value for the new generation of up-and-coming technicians and engineers while creating opportunities for longer term mentoring based on our attendees’ responses but also feedback from our clients in general. We want to make sure that our program speaks to a large group of power industry professionals.
We did get quite a few comments on the meeting space and while most of this feedback has been very positive, we know that some of the space can be enhanced. We plan on making some changes to avoid overcrowding and make it more comfortable for our attendees.

The entire team at Doble want to thank the attendees for joining us at our 90th International Conference of Doble Clients. Overwhelmingly, we got great feedback and we have already started planning for next year’s event which will be held on March 24 – 29, 2024. If you did not get to make it this time, please plan on coming next year.
Want to help shape next year’s technical program? Join us for the upcoming 2023 Client Committee Meetings and Conference in Fort Worth, Texas USA from September 18 – 21. Here we will devote more time for open forums and discussions during committee meetings; it’s a great way to really learn from your colleagues’ experiences. Registration will open in mid-May.
